Thank you for all of your support!
It is with a heavy heart and a grateful spirit that I announce the closure of Moms Next Door. When we started at the end of 2019, I had high hopes for hosting parenting classes, children's events and gatherings, holiday events, potlucks and moms-days-out. Then COVID happened, everything locked down, and my big plans for Moms Next Door changed. And I'm so glad they did!
During these last three years, we were able to help over 100 families! Moms and dads who lost their jobs from the pandemic, kids who were forced to stay home from school for online learning, pregnant women who couldn't afford the basics for their new babies, and families who were having a hard time putting food on the table. This wonderful community was created, and people from all over Orange County donated items that these families needed. It was incredible! And I was so blessed to be a part of it.
The Board and I have made the tough decision to close our doors due solely to the fact that we have all been called into different directions at this time of our lives. Our Secretary has triplet girls and is very active at their school which keeps her extremely busy, as you can imagine! Our CFO has committed to the corporate track but has found involvement with Moms Next Door to be such a wonderful balance for the sometimes steel world of business. And I have recently earned my masters degree in mental health clinical counseling and will soon be licensed in three states to provide counseling services to those experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma.
Upon closing our doors, we have distributed the bulk of our inventory to our Moms Next Door families and will be donating the balance of our funds to local nonprofits, including Casa Teresa, Laura's House, Human Options Center for Children and Families, and Families Forward. If you have any questions about the distribution of our assets or questions about Moms Next Door in general, please feel free to contact us.
For all of you who have been involved in the Moms Next Door community on the donating side or the receiving side (and sometimes both), we offer you a heart-felt thank you! We could not have helped 100+ families without your help. It has been our joy and honor to serve you.
All the best,
